Babies going to Ebay

Well that is it for the doll shows till next July. The March show has been cancelled so unless I can find some new ones I have a long break now.
I have therefore decided to send what babies I have remaining off to Ebay in the lead up to Xmas.

I have 2 listed so far, one ending today and the next one ending next weekend. I just love this shot of Jannali (above).

Stay tuned to my ebay listings to see more as I add them. Even though I am off to Melbourne on holidays to visit the grandkids and family I am going to be listing my babies every few days. I have spent all weekend photographing them and packing them in boxes and naming the boxes ready for them to be shipped as they sell. That way a friend can send them off for me while I am away.

Wow, I have been so slack............ I keep forgetting I have a blog.
What's been happening?
Oh lots, have had a couple of doll shows, and another one this weekend.
I have been getting website stocked with products, keeping up with sales on Ebay and learning new stuff.

I have recently tried painting a couple of babies with air dry paints. I used Jo Sonja paints, bought some Luminaire paints only to decide I prefer my Jo Sonja paints so going to pop the Luminaire ones on the stall at the show this weekend, hopefully someone will buy them.

Here are my 2 air dry fellas:

and Dylan (from Linda Scherer kit "Silja")

I have also been practising painted hair techniques, and am slowly getting more realistic with it.
Both boys above have painted hair, but Dylan's is the best so far.

I have introduced a newsletter to my website store.
If you wish to be kept up to date on the monthly news go to my store and register as a customer.
All customers registered for the month go into a random draw to win a prize. The prize for November is a designer hammock in your choice of colour.

I have also introduced to the store my own crocheted patterns in pdf format.

Been Lazy (Busy) of late.........

Wow, has it been a month nearly since I last wrote on my blog, so lazy am I.....lol.

It has not been a lazy month though.
I have been busy listing babies for sale, created a facebook group page for my babies and been making some outfits for a change.

Both my outfits have since sold on Ebay as have a couple more babies.

I now have twins listed for sale, relatively cheaply too. Please cheer them on and hope their new mum is looking and bids.

I am also getting ready for the next doll show. I hope to have a few cheaper babies at this show to cater to people who cannot afford the dearer kits/babies. At least with what has sold recently I will be taking fresh stock to this show.

I am also please to announce that I have been awarded a standard of excellence award for my craft work for the reborns.
My logo should be coming soon for that then I can show it on all my listings also. This lets customers know that I maintain and strive for excellence in my work, and customer satisfaction.
As soon as it is available I will also add it to my website.

Anyway back to work, these babies will not paint themselves (unfortunately...lol)

Shelby Sold

I have just sold my first ethnic reborn on Ebay.
Shelby is presently in transit to her new home and I hope her new mum loves her to bits.

I recently attended a photography for Ebay workshop and it has made a world of difference to my photo taking for my reborns.
I have invested in new props and blankets and the total effect is now WOW!!!!

Pictures certainly do tell a story.

I have not been painting since the beginning of March when I got a chest infection, but have been back painting the past 3 days trying to finish off a couple of projects before I get Angelica to work on.

My asian from an online class, using Ming Na by Cathy Rowland.

I have also been working on a custom ethnic baby from Taite by Denise Pratt.

I am getting to paint my dream kit.
Ok, so she is not mine, well not yet anyway, but I am going to be painting her.
Ever since I saw the release of the first prototype of this kit I have fallen in love with her and had her on my dream list as one I really wanted to do.
She is a lovely girl, the size of a 5yo so much bigger than any other reborn I have painted.
I have received an offer too good to pass up so I will be starting the first of this kit in a few weeks.
Just have to clear some other painting projects first.

I have not done any painting since I got sick a few weeks back, and after finding out this I have finally found the drive to get back into it.
I am finishing off my "Ming Na" from Lara's Asian class, and have made a start on a custom order, an Ethnic toned Taite by Denise Pratt. At the same time I will be working on Riley by Aleina Peterson using the same paint palette as Taite. I have seen her done as an ethnic and she looks lovely in that tone.

Then I can work on Angelica................... I will keep you posted on here about our progress.

I finally have all of my website matching,including my gallery and online store.
The gallery to some people is laodi9ng as the classic view but I have placed a message saying "best viewed with" so hopefully they will change themes manually.
Whenever I change the theme to automatically load it crashes to others and cannot work out why. I am just hoping with time that will resolve itself as the dns caches all flush and refresh (usually over a 24 to 48 hour time frame).

Now I have the fun of reloading all my albums and pictures and restocking my store with inventory.

Well the website is finally functioning as it should.
All links are now working and the DNS issue has been solved with our hosting company.
Now we just need to restock our store with items for sale and add our lovely babies back into our gallery.

Website Issues - UPDATE!!!!!

Well it appears that most of my customers still cannot access my website, even using the link shown previously.
After many hours of working on issues behind the scenes in an attempt to solve the problem, my brother has finally pinpointed the issue as being a problem with DNS not resolving properly on the hosting servers.
We are now in the process of getting that sorted with the hosting company.

Learn to Paint Realistic Looking Ethnic Babies

Ever wanted to paint realistic looking ethnic babies?
I have been painting aboriginal babies for a few months but I was not satisfied with the limited skintones I was using so I wanted to learn more.
I was told of a forum specialising in ethnic babies but could not join at the time. Well there is a new one, and I believe much better.
The site is run by some wonderful girls (I am a moderator on the site also) and they have the main focus on ethnic babies and conduct paid classes as well as having available pdf files for apst classes that have ended.
There are also some wonderful free tutorials, hints and tips on there if you don't want to take a paid class as yet.

But trust me you won't regret taking the classes on offer.

New Website

I have now loaded the new website pages but my gallery and online store are going to take a couple of weeks or more to get back to what they were.

I hope this has solved the issue of many people having trouble accessing the online store etc.

I have totally deleted everything and started a whole fresh site from scratch.

All pages are working except for the gallery and online store. As soon as possible these will be updated.

Welcome to my new blog.

Since I have been experiencing problems with users accessing my site fom the old blog and store I now have a new location.

I am still designing pages, and will upload them as soon as I can.

My new site will be up shortly so pleasecheck back regularly.
